In reply to <a href="https://www.kindofstephen.com/beautyrecap-january-10th-2017/#comment-63">John</a>.

I think it's just an opinion. There is some research that long term use of moisturizers are detrimental...but they used sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) as an emulsifier (they were the pharmacy base emulsions). That research is old and likely not relevant for most of the products on the market that no longer use SLS as an emulsifier.

Dr. Obagi's products might also be categorized as moisturizers...you can certainly find other products where the bulk formula is the same!

Thank you for sharing this compilation, Stephen! I read a few that sparked my interest. What are your thoughts on Dr.Obagi and his stance on ditching moisturizer. Is there any research at all on his claim that we could possibly be over-hydrating our skin and thus undermining our body's own natural process to repair and hydrate the skin?

I can't imagine someone with eczema or other kind of skin type that has an impaired barrier benefiting from not using a proper moisturizer.

Thanks again!
